DC Based training & advising firm is seeking part time bookkeeper on a contractual basis. Candidate must who know QuickBooks Pro and/or QuickBooks Nonprofit Edition. Contract bookkeeper will be working with two business clients who are located in Silver Spring, MD. This is an immediate contracting opportunity.

2nd Creative Entrepreneur’s Bootcamp a Huge Success!!

The Creative Entrepreneurs Bootcamp held in collaboration with the Ward 7 Arts Collaborative in October 2009 was a HUGE success. There were 10 participants from all over the creative spectrum, who came to learn about the “art” of being an entrepreneur. The participants had such good things to say about the workshop and a few were re-inspired to keep pushing forward in their art and their desire to create a sustainable living from their art. EAB Retained to Conduct “Fashion Census”

EAB Creative Planning Services, LLC was retained by the Greater Washington Fashion Chamber of Commerce (GWFCC) to conduct its first ever market research study. Dubbed the “Fashion Census”, it is the first study of its kind that will attempt to accurately survey the needs of the fashion and retail industry in Washington, DC. By launching the survey, GWFCC aims to gauge the size of the industry and identify the resources that are needed to support this emerging creative economy. EAB will lead the project team and provide strategic consulting expertise to GWFCC. In addition, EAB will partner with GWFCC to launch a series of business workshops entitled “Fashionably Business”. National Entrepreneurship Week!

In honor of National Entrepreneurship Week,EAB Founder Evelyn Bandoh, will be doing an early morning interview on the “Tony is Taking it to the Streets on the Steve Harvey Morning Show” on WHUR 96.3 on Wednesday, February 25th at 7:30 AM.
Then from 12-1pm, Evelyn will be conducting EAB’s Exploring Entrepreneurship Workshop at the MLK Library in DC (901 G Street, NW). This workshop will be videotaped and turned into a podcast on the DC Public Library’s, the DC SLBD website as well as on the EAB website.

Here is some more info about the workshop: In Honor of National Entrepreneurship Week and Black History Month, the DC Department of Small and Local Business Development’s Enhanced Business Information Center (eBIC) and the DC Public Library will be hosting a workshop entitled: Exploring Entrepreneurship. The workshop will take place on February 25, 2009 from 12 noon until 1:00pm at the Martin Luther King Jr. Memorial Library.

This workshop will help start-up and existing entrepreneurs:

Learn and explore the nuances of self-employment and entrepreneurship,
Explore the key personal considerations prior to launching a business, and
Evaluate their existing thoughts about entrepreneurship and their business endeavor.
